But let me tell you, I wasn’t always the person I am today.

I used to be miserable. Everyday felt like an uphill struggle, stuck in a cycle of stagnation.

I’d get frustrated because, despite putting in all the work and effort to make these changes, nothing worked.

Every day felt unproductive with my work, my relationships were strained. Negative thoughts and limiting beliefs were a constant throughout my day. Stress headaches and lethargy had become my daily companions. I believed I’d remain in this state forever.

It’s fair to say I’d hit rock bottom.

I needed to change for the sake of my children, who looked up to me as a role model. My actions were setting an example for them on how to deal with life’s challenges.

So, I made one of the best decisions I’ve ever made to invest in myself. I knew that to change my situation, I’d need to change myself.

Where I’d been so focused on the physical aspect of my wellbeing, I’d neglected other areas. So I revisited my psychology studies and started upskilling myself there.

And over the years, working with teachers, mentors and gaining qualifications, there was a defining moment. During a lesson I learned an approach, a strategy, that I’d been applying, from an idea I had when I was 21.

I realized my approach, the strategy I’d been using was central to this psychotherapy based on behaviour.

With this information, I created a plan for my days to avoid previous pitfalls. I established a daily routine that incorporated specific habits focused on my wellbeing. These helped me to build my discipline and resilience day by day.

Productivity surged as my energy levels soared. I made significant strides in my professional life.

And now, at 42, I’m in the best shape of my life. My confidence and self-esteem have reached new heights, empowering me to take on challenges I had never dreamed of.
